Eight years ago, DJ BULL JUN arrived at New York City. He lived at a record dealer’s house where many of vintages of record collections were roughly piled up like a mountain with much dust. He spent there for a couple of years and developed knowledge of what the dealer dude who has poured a big passion into music had. He was influenced a lot because of the record dealer’s intense attitude for the music (his government & nick names veiled for his privacy). When DJ BULL JUN was on his temporal return to Japan in 2000, he participated in the production for a release of “DJ LARK & FUNK MESSENGERS/BADDEST EP”, released from ASSIGN NOTE, a label they use to own. In 2002, he released his mix CD “FUNKY HUSTLE”, the value of which did spread throughout Japan. The CD celebrated FLATROCK RECORDS’s inception and was the first product on the label. He is now a president of the label and has operated on releases of ULTICUT UPS, DJ JUMBO, A.Y.B FORCE & DJ CHAIRMAN MAO etc…
